Library synopsis: [En] The plot itsself is familiar enough: Professor Ambrosius () and his assistant, Alfred () arrive in Transylvania and discover the castle of the vampire, protected by the hunchbacked servant Koukol (). The try to stake the vampires and rescue everybody’s object of desire, , but instead flee while vampirizes a willing Ploanski in the back of the sleigh and unwittingly carries the couple’s evil pleasures back to civilization, there to spread across the world. Written by Phil Hardy

However, at the early stages of production the format was changed to wider, anamorphic Panavision.  |  For the ballroom scene had the room completely copied behind a fake mirror with three doubles acting as the human protagonists.  |  Originally wanted to shoot his film on location in and around a castle in Switzerland which he saw during a vacation, but as this was impossible, other locations in the Alps were found, along with studio shoots in UK.
