Library synopsis: [It] Il giovane Ahmed, sultano di Bagdad, viene detronizzato dal Gran Visir Jaffar che lo fa rinchiudere in carcere. Nella stessa cella è rinchiuso il ladruncolo Abu che riesce a rubare la chiave della prigione e fugge con Ahmed. Vanno a Bassora dove Ahmed vede la bellissima figlia del sultano, se ne innamora e ne è ricambiato. Intanto anche Jaffar è venuto a Bassora a chiedere la mano della ragazza. Questa tenta di fuggire con Ahmed ma Jaffar, per virtù di magia, priva Ahmed della vista e trasforma Abu in un cane. Jaffar rapisce la principessa e ritorna a Bassora dove uccide, con uno stratagemma, il vecchio sultano. Ahmed, riacquistata la vista, viene a Bassora e tenta di strappare la principessa a Jaffar ma è sopraffatto e condannato alla decapitazione. Abu, liberato anch’egli dall’incantesimo, con l’aiuto di un gigante e attraverso una serie di peripezie, giunge a Bagdad sul tappeto magico e fulmina Jaffar con un arco infallibile. Trionfo di Ahmed e della sua giovane sposa, mentre Abu riparte sul tappeto volante. Segnalazioni Cinematografiche
