A Roaring Adventure Synopsis
Duffy Burns returns from college in the East and discovers that his father's cattle are being systematically stolen by a band of unknown outlaws. Duffy resolves to catch the culprits, conceals his identity, and goes to work on his father's ranch. There he meets Gloria Carpenter, daughter of one of the outlaws, and falls in love with her. Gloria returns the affection, but she is puzzled by Duffy's constant attentions to the Widow Dodd. Duffy and a sheriff's posse round up the bandits, Gloria's father reforms, and Duffy wins Gloria's love when he explains that his friendship with the widow has been strictly in the interest of capturing the cattle rustlers.
Cactus Crandall Synopsis
"Cactus" Bob Crandall wakes up to find his cattle and his ranch foreman gone, he journeys across the Mexican border to investigate. There he discovers that an American girl, Helen Ware, and her father are being held prisoner by Mendoza, leader of a group of bandits. Cactus and his friend Carter rescue Helen and her father and ride back to the Crandall ranch with the bandits in close pursuit. While the cowboys and bandits are fighting, Mendoza enters the house and carries Helen off, but Cactus overtakes them and kills Mendoza. Soon after, the foreman and missing cattle, who had been delayed on the road by a stampede, arrive.
"A Roaring Adventure" holds a slight edge in general audience appreciation, but "Cactus Crandall" offers its own unique cult appeal.
