Simultaneously filmed German version of a comedy also made in Czech: a wealthy young lady takes a job in a department store, part of a huge company she's inherited, to learn about the lower classes; she falls in love with a shipping clerk.
Songs of Scotland Synopsis
A Scots lass parts regretfully from her lad as he goes to make his mark in the world. The lad meets an old man who warns him against leaving his beloved. He returns to her and they are married. Then the old man, who loves the girl's mother, asks that she be his wife. Thereafter another marriage is arranged.
"Annette in Paradise" holds a slight edge in general audience appreciation, but "Songs of Scotland" offers its own unique cult appeal.
