Hearts and Fists Synopsis
When Larry Pond (John Bowers) inherits an almost bankrupt lumber company from his father, he attempts to turn it into a successful operation. Meanwhile, Preston Tolley (Alan Hale), a competitor lumberman, hires a hoodlum to prevent Larry from getting his logs to the mill, but Larry beats the thug in a fight and, commandeering a train and a preacher, marries Alexia Newton (Marguerite De La Motte), Tolley's former fiancée, en route to the mill with his logs.
Miss Jackie of the Army Synopsis
Young Jackie Kernwood, the daughter of the colonel commanding an army post, is bored with the routines of post life, and to break the monotony she organizes a girls' brigade, of which her father disapproves. When the colonel forces her to disband the group, she makes up her mind to run away and become a nurse in the Red Cross. Before she can do that, however, she stumbles across evidence of a spy ring headed by an officer on the post that is plotting to blow up a troop train--and it looks like the chief spy is her boyfriend, Lt. Adair.
"Hearts and Fists" holds a slight edge in general audience appreciation, but "Miss Jackie of the Army" offers its own unique cult appeal.
