Wladzio is a pharmacist's apprentice and a young man with a romantic disposition and a warm heart. He is madly in love with the cashier, who is the handsome Loda, the daughter of the owner of horse-drawn carriages... But the crisis is not conducive to their love. Everyone is doing badly... Wladzio dreams of what it would be like if times changed and suddenly, by some magical twist of fate, there was movement and people would have money again. Loda dreams of a stage career.
