The Battle of Hearts Synopsis
The wealthy owner of a fishing-boat fleet, Martin Cane, loves lovely Maida Rhodes, but her heart belongs to Jo Sprague, the son of the lighthouse keeper. Not only does Cane lose his love, but when his fleet is ruined he has to start over again from scratch. Maida soon finds out, however, that neither of her suitors is actually what he seems to be, which is good for one of them and not good for the other.
The Call of the North Synopsis
Trader Ned Stewart's father Graehme was unjustly accused of adultery and killed. Ned sets out to avenge his father but is captured and send on "la longue traverse," the long journey to death. Virginia saves Ned, and the villain confesses Graehme's innocence on his deathbed.
"The Call of the North" is currently leading in ratings, making it a stronger choice for newcomers to the genre.
