The Mayor of Filbert Synopsis
The mayor of Filbert, Ohio--a saloonkeeper named Schmidt--is a crook and a grafter. The local Civic Reform Society and the Prohibition Party ask him to a conference, but during it he slips and hits his head on a heater, knocking himself out. They think he's dead, and when they find a drifter who looks just like the crooked Filbert, they get him to assume the man's identity. As it turns out, the real Mayor Schmidt isn't dead. Complications ensue.
Double Trouble Synopsis
Shy, timid banker Florian Amidon is assaulted, robbed, and knocked out while on vacation. When he wakes up he discovers that he's in the booming oil town of Bakerstown, has no memory of how he got there--and that there's a five-year gap in his life from the time he was robbed until that moment. He and his friend Judge Blodgett enlist the services of clairvoyant Madame Leclaire to help Florian find out what happened to him. What she discovers changes his life forever.
