You Never Know Synopsis
Carlos Medina, leader of a Latin American revolution, is visiting Jasper Folansbee, a backer of the revolutionists, and is wooing Folansbee's daughter, Miriam. As a result of striking Muggsy, a street urchin, with her automobile, Miriam meets Eddie Manning, a mysterious American who frequents a Spanish bar, and offers him employment as her chauffeur. Eddie has learned from Inez, a Spanish dancer, that Medina has only his own gain in mind; he stations Muggsy to watch Medina's yacht and is imprisoned in the bar. Rescued by Muggsy in time to pursue the fleeing Medina, Eddie reveals himself to be a Secret Service agent, exposes the South American as a swindler of both his people and Folansbee, and rescues a grateful Miriam.
Into the Light Synopsis
A simple country girl, brutally mistreated by her stepfather, awakens first the sympathy, then the love, of The Boy. The Spider, who lusts after The Girl, makes a bargain with the stepfather and takes her to the city where, kept prisoner, she is soon broken in health and spirit. Cast out and near death, she is taken in by The Boy. Following the demise of The Spider, The Boy takes her to church, where he prays, and after many hours she is restored to health.
"You Never Know" holds a slight edge in general audience appreciation, but "Into the Light" offers its own unique cult appeal.
