Biography
Alberto Degli Abbati stepped before the camera in the feverish bloom of Italian silent film: first as the doomed romantic spirit of *Chopin e George Sand* in 1910, then vanishing into the savage heart of *Fra ruggiti di belve* three years later, and finally surfacing as the enigmatic aristocrat of *La contessa Fedra* in 1914.
