Biography
Born in Copenhagen on 14 July 1881, Alexander Christian traded law books for megaphones, storming Danish silent cinema with a trio of 1916–17 chillers: the claustrophobic thriller *Værelse Nr. 17*, the manor-house whodunit *Herregaards-Mysteriet*, and the hypnotic portrait *Kvinden med de smukke Øjne*. A storyteller who wrote what he later filmed, he shaped shadow and title card into tight, suspenseful visions before death closed the curtain on 9 September 1937.
