Cold Spring, New York, greeted Edward A. Morange on 20 March 1865, and from that Hudson River hamlet he traveled a path that led behind the camera. In 1914 he steered the six-reel caper The Great Diamond Robbery, a swift crime tale that fixed his name to the silent era.
