He was a composer and director, known for The Strike (1947), Vera Lukásová (1939) and Chceme zít (1950). He was married to Zuzana Kocova, Mary Subrtová and Ludmila Matejovska. He died on 9 August 1959 in Prague, Czechoslovakia [now in Czech Republic].
