Biography
Brooklyn welcomed Elwood Fleet Bostwick on 13 May 1878, and by 1914 he had stepped before the camera as both actor and director for the gritty melodrama *A Factory Magdalen*. Talkies arrived, and Bostwick kept pace, guiding the jazz-age flirtations of *Kitty* and the sparkling skyscraper romance *City Butterfly* onto 1929 screens. Off-set, two leading ladies shared his life—first Daisy Starr, later Vivian Blackburn. The curtain fell on 14 January 1953 in Great Neck, New York, but the flicker of his films keeps the name Elwood Fleet Bostwick alive.
