Jagatrai Pesumal Advani

Biography

Indian producer and director. A native of Hyderabad in what is now Pakistan, Advani completed his schooling and traveled extensively through Europe, gaining a great deal of knowledge and experience in filmmaking, particularly from German sources. He entered Indian cinema as an assistant director to a director named Bhavanani prior to 1930. He quickly progressed to directing films of his own beginning in 1931. Advani directed nearly three dozen films over the next two and a half decades, and occasionally produced films as well. He was a director and owner of Shabab Productions.
