Janko Ravnik was born on 7 March 1891 in Bohinjska Bistrica, Slovenia. He was a director and cinematographer, known for In the Realms of Goldhorn (1931) and Odkritje Napoleonovega spomenika v Ljubljani (1929). He died on 2 September 1981 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
