Biography
Detroit, 29 April 1871: the city’s horse-drawn streetcars still clattered over cobblestones when Louis Myll first opened his eyes. Within four crowded years—1915—he steered three one-reel whirlwinds out of the Nickelodeon era: the perpetual-motion gag suite Keep Moving, the foundling melodrama The Adopted Baby, and the temperance spoof When Ciderville Went Dry. Between shoots he swapped vows first with Alma Hanlon, later with Corah White, wedding bells book-ending a career that flickered as fast as the nitrate it was printed on. The same border city claimed him again on 22 April 1939, closing the circuit where it began sixty-eight years earlier.
