Biography

Born among the clamorous foundries of South Amboy, New Jersey, on 5 November 1872, Ulysses Davis swapped the clang of iron for the hush of celluloid dreams. Within three lightning years he steered audiences through the perilous cliffs of *The White Scar*, the moral quicksand of *Tainted Money* (both 1915), and the reincarnation mystery *The Soul’s Cycle* (1916), carving out a reputation as a yarn-spinner who could make flickering shadows breathe. The final curtain fell on 1 October 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, but the stories he set in motion still loop through the dark.
