Biography
A crisp November day in 1879 Copenhagen brought Adam Poulsen into the world, and the Danish capital would one day claim him back after a life spent in front of cameras. Between 1911 and 1916 he flickered across silent screens—first as the wily *Privatsekretæren*, then the morally tangled lead of *Was She Justified?*, and finally amid the fiery doom of *Druknet i Flammehavet*. Off-screen, his heart signed three different marriage certificates: first to Nathalia Olivia Cathrine Krause, later to Ellen Rimestad, and lastly to Jytte Knipschildt. Ninety-one years, seven months and eleven days after his first breath, Poulsen took his last in Grinsted, Denmark.
