Biography
Adorján Nagy first drew breath in Budapest on 24 November 1888 and, half a century later, was still lighting up its screens. Between 1915 and 1920 he slipped into three very different worlds: the tragic nobility of *Bánk bán*, the smoky furnaces of *A vasgyáros*, and the globe-trotting thrills of *Din Grozaviile lumii*. Off-camera he shared his life with actress Piroska Szabados; on-camera he left flickering proof that early Hungarian cinema had its own magnetic leading man. He exited the stage for good in his hometown on 2 August 1956.
