Biography
A native of Pancras, London, Akerman May entered the world on November 12, 1869. He found his calling in the early days of cinema, earning recognition for his performance in the 1914 film Called Back. May's domestic life saw two chapters: first with Ella Bertha Saunders, and later with fellow performer Elizabeth Alice Groves, better known to the public as Elsie Egerton.
