Biography
Hailing from the hills of Cabell County, West Virginia, Alberta Gallatin entered the world on April 5, 1861, eventually finding her calling in the burgeoning world of early cinema. She established herself as a notable dramatic talent through her roles in the 1914 features 'The Christian' and 'Mr. Barnes of New York,' as well as her performance in 1915’s 'The Fifth Commandment.' Beyond the camera's lens, Gallatin’s personal history included marriages to Edwin Ogden Childe and Percy Sage Richardson, who was also known as Percy Sage. After a life that spanned the transition from the mid-19th century to the post-war era, she passed away in New York City on August 25, 1948.
