Biography
Albin Lavén entered the world on 16 April 1861 amid the cobblestones and gaslit alleys of Stockholm, Stockholms län. Within a few swift years he traded schoolbooks for greasepaint, stepping onto stages that would soon flicker onto silver screens. In 1916 alone, audiences saw him negotiate fate in *Kiss of Death*, wrestle devotion in *Therese*, and haunt the shifting light of *Vingarne*. Barely a year later, on 3 September 1917, the same city that had watched him take his first breath quieted beneath his last, leaving Stockholm with a trio of celluloid ghosts and the echo of a performer who had just begun to speak in the new language of film.
