Biography
Philadelphia welcomed Allan Murnane on 7 November 1882, and by his early thirties he had slipped effortlessly into the flickering new world of silent cinema. Between 1916 and 1917 he strode across the screen in *Beatrice Fairfax*, traded intrigue in the serial *Patria*, and lent heartfelt charm to *Hazel Kirke*. Off-camera, he shared his life with Adelaide Augusta Keim; together they rode the crest of a changing industry until the talkies turned the lights out on his era. Murnane’s final curtain fell on 2 April 1950 in New Rochelle, New York, but the shadows of those early reels still carry his silhouette.
