Amvrosi Buchma was born on 14 March 1891 in Lemberg, Galicia, Austria-Hungary [now Lviv, Ukraine]. He was an actor and director, known for Ivan the Terrible, Part I (1944), Ivan the Terrible, Part II: The Boyars' Plot (1946) and Za stenoj (1928). He died on 6 January 1957 in Kyiv, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union [now Kyiv, Ukraine].
