Biography
Born under the Indiana sun on 14 August 1884, Michigan City’s own Anita King rode from small-town quiet to flickering silent-film glory. 1915 found her commanding the screen in *The Girl of the Golden West*; a year later she matched wits with the title tyrant in *Anton the Terrible*, and by 1917 she was solving crimes as the savvy *Girl Angle*. Off-camera, life read like three acts: first to Thomas Morrison McKenna, then to James Stuart McKnight, and finally again to a Timothy McKenna. The final curtain fell on 10 June 1963 in Hollywood, California, closing the epic she first cranked to life in front of a hand-cranked camera nearly half a century earlier.
