Biography
Before the talkies ever cleared their throats, Annibale Durelli had already slipped his footprints into the fresh cement of Italian film: in 1913 he strode through the imperial pageantry of *The Triumph of an Emperor*, the next year he was digging for fool’s gold in *A Mexican Mine Fraud; or, The Game That Failed*, and by 1919 he had surrendered to the coaxing smiles of *Venere propizia*.
