Biography
On the 26th of October 1859, in the tiny Piedmontese village of Cunico, Antonio Grisanti first drew breath. Within fifty-five years he would exhale his last in nearby Turin, but between those two breaths he strode across the nascent Italian cinema, lending his presence to the volcanic cataclysm of *The Last Days of Pompeii* (1913), the star-crossed vows of *The Betrothed* (1913), and the feverish obsessions of *The Maniac* (1912).
