Biography
Emerging from Paducah, Kentucky, in 1879, Arthur Evers spent the 1890s honing his craft on the stage before bringing his sophisticated, dark-haired presence to the silent screen. A refined character actor, he initially collaborated with director Jay Hunt at the Champion Film Company, appearing in the 1912 drama 'Camille' opposite Gertrude Shipman. Following a tenure with the Famous Players Film Company, Evers bid farewell to the industry in 1916. His cinematic journey saw a surprising coda nineteen years later when he returned for a solitary role as a Court Clerk in the 1935 masterpiece 'Les Misérables,' appearing alongside Fredric March and Charles Laughton.
