Biography
On 29 September 1885, Arthur Ullmann entered the world in Germany and soon stepped behind the camera, gifting early cinema three punchy one-reel landmarks: 1912’s straw-widower farce *Der Strohwitwer*, followed in 1916 by both the prison-break yarn *Bob Cray (die Geschichte eines Sträflings)* and the high-stakes thriller *Es gilt sein Leben*.
