Biography

October 31, 1880: Berlin’s gray autumn light met the newborn gaze of Arthur Wellin. Two decades later he stepped behind the camera, letting the lens swallow souls in “The Picture of Dorian Gray” (1917). He followed the devil’s bargain with the swashbuckling shadows of “Robin Morris” (1918) before confronting famine itself in “A World Without Hunger” (1920).
