Biography
San Jose, 9 February 1890: Artie Ortego enters the world, and by 1916 he’s swaggering through American Aristocracy as if born in a saddle. Two years later he’s decoding peril in The Great Secret, and by 1926 he’s galloping across The Valley of Bravery, sun-lit dust trailing every reel. Off-screen, he claims two brides—Billie Mack first, then Marie Manley—before the final curtain falls in Burbank on 24 July 1960.
