Biography
August Wehmer arrived in the world on 4 August 1890 and stepped before the camera just as Danish silent film was finding its voice. Over two brisk seasons he haunted the screen: first as the fortune-seeking protagonist of *The Heir to Skjoldborg* (1914), then as a widower navigating grief in *Enken* and as a sailor courting doom in *Dødssejleren*, both released in 1915. After the lights dimmed on his brief but vivid career, he slipped from public view until his death in Copenhagen on 17 November 1934.
