Biography
A midwinter baby, Barry O’Moore arrived in Harrison, Ohio, on 8 December 1879 and grew into one of early cinema’s quicksilver leading men. Between 1909 and 1914 he slipped into the skin of Edgar Allan Poe, wore the ermine of Frederick the Great, and navigated the intrigues of A Tudor Princess, letting the camera capture the flicker of his restless intelligence. Off-screen he claimed Agnes Scott as his lifelong scene-partner. The final curtain fell in New York City on 23 October 1945, but the flickers he left behind still dance in the dark.
