Before talkies had found their voice, Betty Marshall had already slipped twice onto the flicker-lit screen: first as the keeper of A Trade Secret in the spring of 1915, then as the woman tangling with The Man Who Beat Dan Dolan that same year. Two one-reelers, one whirlwind debut, and a name that vanished almost as quickly as it flashed into the nickelodeon dark.
