Biography
A June morning in 1886 St. Joseph, Missouri, delivered Beulah Poynter into a world that would soon watch her flicker across silent screens. Before microphones, she spoke volumes in Lena Rivers (1914), etched heartbreak into The Little Girl That He Forgot (1915), and conjured hope in The Miracle of Money (1920). Off-camera, her story had three co-stars: producer George Leffler, leading man John Bowers, and actor-manager Burton S. Nixon. On 13 August 1960 the final reel rolled in Manhasset, New York, closing a life that had written itself into early cinema’s fabric.
