Biography
Born in Denmark on the first day of spring 1909, Bjørn Spiro spent nine decades turning scripts into living, breathing characters. Television crowds still greet the wry charm he brought to Huset på Christianshavn (1970), while earlier moviegoers remember his roguery in Røverne fra Rold (1947) and the tension he bottled in Escape from Terror (1955). When the curtain finally fell on 1 June 1999, Denmark lost one of its most quietly magnetic screen presences.
