Biography
Blanche Craig entered the world on a winter’s day—6 January 1866—in the coastal hamlet of Cutler, Maine, and took her final bow beneath the palms of Hollywood on 23 September 1940. Between those two coasts she built a screen legacy that still flickers: she lit up The Dawn of a Tomorrow in 1915, dissected the dizzy dance of wedlock in 1923’s Modern Marriage, and stirred comic tempests in 1926’s Then Came the Woman.
