Biography
April 25, 1906, marked the arrival of Blanche Schwed on American soil. Before she reached her teens, she stepped before the camera, lending her presence to The Alien (1915), followed by the tender drama A Bit of Life (1917) and the household-comedy romp A Handy Man Around the House (1919). Off-screen, she shared her life with Joseph Tannen. Her final curtain fell in New York City on July 4, 1983.
