Biography
Brad Sutton entered the world in 1863, long before the flicker of cinema became America’s favorite pastime. When the cameras finally rolled, he stepped into three 1916 one-reelers—*The Martyrdom of Philip Strong*, *The Innocence of Ruth*, and *The Catspaw*—leaving ghostly imprints of his face on the fledgling screen. Sixteen years after those performances, on a muggy August 19 in 1932, his final curtain fell in New York City, the same metropolis that had once propped up his brief, bright moment in the spotlight.
