Biography
Leap-day, 1864: Stockholm’s frost still clung to the cobbles when Carl Borin drew his first breath. Thirty-one years later he stepped before the camera, helping Sweden’s flickering new art form take shape in Brother Against Brother. Two more performances—Strejken’s labor-riot drama and the big-top spell of Cirkus Bimbini—fixed his name to the country’s silent screen. On 27 September 1921, the curtains closed for good in Helsingborg, but the frames he left behind keep rolling.
