Biography
On an Ohio summer day—13 August 1890—Carl von Schiller drew his first breath, little guessing the flickering silver screen would soon whisper his name. Within a quarter-century he strode before the camera, lending presence to three 1915 one-reel wonders: A Little Brother of the Rich, Captain Courtesy, and The Secretary of Frivolous Affairs. Off-set he claimed Ethel Brayton as his lifelong scene partner. Forty-seven springs after that heady debut, the curtain fell for good; he died in Hollywood, California on 15 April 1962, leaving the lights a shade dimmer.
