Biography
A pioneering figure in early Dutch cinema, Caroline van Dommelen emerged from Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, on 9 November 1874. She made her mark as both a compelling actress and a visionary director, notably helming and starring in films such as De bannelingen (1911), Roze Kate (1912), and Vrouwenoogen (1912). Her remarkable career concluded in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, where she passed away on 4 March 1957.
