Biography
Greenwich, 19 November 1872: the curtain rose on Charles Cherry. Within a decade he had stepped from the Thames-side fog onto flickering screens, animating the cunning husband in 1915’s The Mummy and the Humming Bird and the haunted stranger of 1916’s Passers By. The footlights dimmed for the last time on 2 September 1931, but the frames he left behind still spin.
