Born in the bustling heart of New York City in April 1855, Charles Dickson rose to prominence as a creative architect of early cinema, leaving his mark as both a performer and a director. He is celebrated for his work on the 1916 titles Movie Money and Dear Percy, as well as the 1918 production Good Night, Paul. Throughout his professional ascent, he shared his life with his wife, Lillian Burkhardt. Dickson’s storied journey concluded in his lifelong home of New York on December 11, 1927.
