Biography
Born under the gas-lights of 1871, Charles Guthrie stepped onto the flickering silver sheet just as movies learned to speak in shadows, headlining Samson and A Gilded Fool within the same breathless year of 1915. The curtain fell for good on 30 June 1939 in Washington, D.C., but those two surviving reels still keep his pulse alive frame by frame.
