Biography
Born in Aalborg on 2 April 1887, Christel Holch stepped before the camera in Denmark’s silent-film dawn, bewitching audiences as the seer in *Spejlets Spaadom* (1916), the bride in *Fiskeren og hans Brud* (1912), and the woman torn by *En stærkere magt* (1914). Off-screen she exchanged vows twice—first with Jacob Jørgen Jacobsen, later with Jens Augustus Holch—always keeping the surname Holch in the spotlight. Six weeks before her 82nd birthday, on 8 March 1969, the curtain fell.
