Biography
Christian Lange arrived in Copenhagen on 17 February 1866 and, before the city had grown tired of the century, had already stepped in front of the camera. Between 1913’s The Steel King’s Last Wish and The Princess’s Dilemma he showed audiences a monarch’s final heartbeat and a royal predicament; the following year, in The Fatal Oath, he sealed his brief but vivid screen legacy. The curtain fell for good on 12 October 1913—just months after those first flickers lit the dark—leaving three surviving reels to speak for a life that lasted only forty-seven winters.
