Biography
Born under the winter sky of Pike County, Indiana on 9 December 1891, Curtis Cooksey slipped into the world just as the century turned. A quiet Midwestern childhood gave way to a life beneath klieg lights, where he lent his presence to Scaramouche’s swashbuckling court (1952), Death of a Scoundrel’s glittering rot (1956), and Storm Center’s hushed rebellion (1956). Sixty years after his first breath, Hollywood’s warm California sun set on his final act, 19 April 1962.
