Biography
Liverpool welcomed Dan Crimmins on 18 May 1863, and from that port city he sailed—at least imaginatively—into a life on screen. Over three decades he lent his weathered presence to The Midnight Express (1924), traded stares with towering redwoods in The Valley of the Giants (1927), and charmed as the roving heart of Vagond Lady (1935). Off-camera he shared his life with actress Rosa Gore. The final curtain fell on 12 July 1945 in Los Angeles, but the reels he left behind keep his Liverpool-to-Hollywood journey alive.
